Our
Philosophy
Established in 2007, Soccer Schools Indonesia (SSI), were invited by
English Premier League Club Arsenal F.C to join them in a
partnership to form SSI-Arsenal in order to try to achieve our
shared vision of developing a love for soccer amongst the young. Not
just for the talented but for youngsters of all ages and abilities.
We offer an opportunity for those who want to have top class
professional, progressive coaching irrespective of their experience
or ability. All we ask is that they love soccer and want to be part
of the game.
SSI - Arsenal is not intended as a "nursery" for the famous Premier
League Club. If an exceptionally talented youngster comes along
then, yes, we would ensure his talent was drawn to Arsenal Football
Club's attention. Above all though, our partnership is to promote
soccer in Indonesia and to offer a soccer school with coaching that
reflects the immense experience of the Arsenal coaching staff with
an opportunity for all to enjoy.
Arsenal coaching staff visit us regularly throughout the year and
work not only with our students but also our own coaches for ongoing
assessment purposes.
SSI - Arsenal is Indonesia's premier soccer school, and is an
official Arsenal soccer school affiliated to Arsenal in the UK. In
line with any premier league club, SSI - Arsenal sets high standards
for its coaches and ensures that its facilities and settings are the
best in Indonesia.
SSI ARSENAL CURRICULUM
Along with the Arsenal Soccer Schools coaching modules, our coaches
also utilize the Long Term Athlete Development framework to set our
coaching curriculum.
Consistent with SSI’s vision of “Creating a place where kids can
realize their maximum potential through soccer oriented programs”,
the term ‘Athlete’ is intended to imply all soccer players. It is
used because it is the generic term used by all sports. Research
shows that teaching young people good basic movement skills at an
early age enhances their positive feelings about long-term
participation in sport because they feel equipped with the basic
‘tools of the trade’.
LTAD can therefore help to provide a means of developing an
integrated, systematic approach to athlete development that will
both foster long term participation and ensure that all players are
able to achieve their full potential, whether that be as a
recreational club player, or playing at international level.
Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) is made up of 6 stages:
≡ FUNdamentals
≡ Learning to Train
≡ Training to Train
≡ Training to Compete
≡ Training to Win
≡ Retirement/retainment
As our programs cater more toward youth players, we will focus more
on the first 4 stages of the LTAD.
Our coaches create their coaching sessions in line with the
considerations outlined in each of these stages.
Player Evaluations
Students who train with us for more than 6 training sessions each
term will be subjected to evaluations by their respective coaches.
These written evaluations will take into account our key areas of
development: Ball Control, Passing & Receiving, Defending,
Finishing, Team Skills, Movement Skills, Mental Attributes and
Physical Attributes.
The player evaluations will be distributed to the players at the
last session of the term and we are also in the process of making
them viewable through our password protected website.
